About

David Lynch compares transcendental meditation to catching fish. The fish inside your mind are ideas. Sit long enough and you’ll catch a big one. The ideas in my head constant swim around like fish ready to be caught and, fortunately, over the last six years I have been building a tool set of artistic skills, my fishing pole.

I tend to depict human figures. I find that the full figure has a powerful storytelling capability and the portrait has so much information to depict beyond the immediate face. In order to capture these qualities in my art I look to the baroque painters like Caravaggio, Diego Velázquez, Dirck van Baburen, and Francisco de Zurbarán, who explore the sculptural effects of light on a human subject.
